Journey

Ok, let me start off by saying we LOVE Journey. So for Valentine's Day, our gift to each other was tickets to the Journey concert that we just returned from. It was SO WORTH IT. The concert was AWESOME. They played for more than 2 hours, it was the first concert of their tour so they had tons of energy and they didn't JUST play their greatest hits, but they DID play almost all of our favorite songs. So fun!

If you want to be a true Journey fan, you have to get past the world's obsession with "Don't Stop Believin'"...yes, its a great song, but seriously they have tons that are better. Here are some Heather and Spencer approved Journey downloads for you:

Valentine's Day

Ahhh, birthdays. Last year I didn't want to celebrate 30 and it turned out to be a lovely laid back day. The year before I was freaking out about turning 29 because it was my last birthday before 30 and I was planning to never celebrate a birthday again. Yesterday I turned 31 and it was pretty blah. I decided that as you get older, birthdays become less and less glamorous. I'm not saying I didn't have a good day. I'm just saying birthdays are blah when you're IN your 30's. More like just another day rather than an extra special day. (I keep wondering if this will get better or worse once I have kids to celebrate with...starting next year...but I think it will just get crazier.) ANYWAY, I celebrate by sleeping in (of course), taking my time getting ready for the day, getting a free birthday drink from Starbucks (decaf don't worry), getting a manicure and my first pre-natal massage, a yummy snack and then relaxing at home while I waited for Spencer to get home from work. When he arrived, I opened my present from him which included chocolate covered strawberries (which I had been craving but never really told him about so points for him!), and then we headed to Mt. Charleston (with Tank) for a romantic evening away. Our cabin was cute and cozy, there was snow, our dinner was delicious and we fell asleep to a roaring fire in our room. It was lovely. This morning we woke up to see the snow in the daylight, had a nice breakfast at the lodge and headed back home. Overall a great celebration if I do say so myself.Special thanks to my sweet hubby and all my family and friends who called, texted, sent cards, facebook messages, emails, etc. Love you all very much!

Michelle

I was lucky enough to have my best friend from Tampa, Michelle, come to visit me this past weekend. She arrived on Saturday evening and we met her and her dad for dinner at Battista's Hole In The Wall, one of my favorite restaurants (though I realized it was one of my favorites because of the free wine with dinner, which I couldn't eat, and the delicious cappucino, which ended up giving me the worst heartburn I have ever had, but dinner was still really nice. Then Michelle and I stayed up late talking and catching up. We talk almost every single day, but its different when you're in the same room. We woke up a little bit late and headed to The Cracked Egg of course (our favorite!) and then we did some shopping, went to Kabuki for dinner and saw O at The Bellagio. We had AWESOME seats so the show was even better than the last time I saw it and Michelle loved her first time seeing it. Monday we headed to The Cracked Egg for breakfast AGAIN (told you it was our favorite) and then we did a little more shopping and got pedicures. It was a really relaxing day. Tuesday, I had jury duty, so Michelle spent the whole day wandering the strip with her dad while I sat through the longest jury duty session I have had to date. It was awful. After I was done I rushed down the strip to The Venetian to meet Michelle for a quick dinner before we went to see Phantom Of The Opera. And unfortunately, I just returned from dropping her off at the airport so she could head back to Tampa. We had a great quick visit just hanging out and seeing lots of shows but the craziest thing about Michelle's visit was that we didn't take a single picture...not of anything we did and not of us together. Michelle and I are probably the two people who take more pictures than anyone else I know of in the world and not one picture. Insanity. But a great weekend nonetheless.
