Cold Front, Warm Cats
A desert cold front came through Las Vegas yesterday. We didn't think we'd need to turn our heat on much in the winters in Las Vegas, but we were way wrong. 50 degrees with no moisture in the air feels MUCH colder than 50 degrees with some humidity. Even the cats think so. Until we turned the heat on, they found warmth in the blanket cabinet...cuties.

Alley Way Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving!
Today I had to work all day, so I missed the normal thanksgiving day filled with cooking and watching football. Tonight Spencer had to work so we missed a normal thanksgiving dinner with family/together. That is why we celebrated our OWN Thanksgiving yesterday. However, we still managed to spend a little Thanksgiving together today. The alley behind The Mirage has an exit door from the Dolphin Habitat and an exit door from Love. His crew brought leftovers backstage and had their own Thanksgiving dinner. I walked down the alley and he smuggled us a plate full of dinner to share in the alley together. We called family to say Happy Thanksgiving to them while we were together. It was perfect considering! Just more proof to me that we have fun no matter what, as long as we're together! :)

Our Thanksgiving!
Its very frustrating when you work in the tourism industry and have to work on the holidays. Spencer and I have to work opposite shifts tomorrow so we had "Our Thanksgiving" today!
Its not often that I cook, or even spend a significant amount of time in the kitchen, but I love to cook for holidays, especially for Thanksgiving. So I was happy to spend the majority of the day doing just that!
I did let Spencer make the mashed potatoes though...or as he and his family call them, "party potatoes" (YUM!)
On a regular day it is very easy to think of all the things that are hard or suck in life, but today is not one of those days. I am thankful for many many things this Thanksgiving. Most importantly, someone I love to share the holidays with. We might not be a big crazy family, but together with our little "kids", Spencer and I are a family and I am so very thankful for him and our love and how we got to this place we call "Us".
I am also thankful for cute, uninvited but always welcome visitors at our dinner table:

(And in case you were wondering...Noelle isn't into Thanksgiving dinner...she much prefers cat food and treats, which she got plenty extra of today!)
I am also very thankful for all of our family who we won't have the chance to spend Thanksgiving with, but who will be with us in spirit while we are both working hard to make money so that we can pay for our time with them around Christmas! :) And for the friends we have near and far. We have been blessed with the chance to make new friends and know who our true friends are, and we love you all for being a very important part of our lives!
