3 Down, 13 To Go!

My prediction (and my wish) was correct this week!

Bye bye Kathy and Tony!

3 Years Ago Today...

...I met the man of my dreams, my best friend, my confidant, my hero, and the love of my life. One month and some change ago, I promised my whole life to this man. So we probably won't really celebrate this day a whole lot anymore in the years to come since we have a new, even more special anniversary to celebrate from now on, but I will never stop acknowledging this day. It is one of those most important, life changing days. So happy 3 year anniversary of knowing each other Spencer. Thank you for being someone I trust, respect, smile at, laugh with, love being around, and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with. And thank you for loving me unconditionally, trusting me, caring about me, and always putting a smile on my face and in my heart. I love you more than anything! Its been a great year to celebrate today! :)

Week 2!

Joanna and Derek ~ Jive ~ Ok, first of all I must comment on Joanna's NASTY GROSS ICKY hair extensions...ew. As for the dancing, she kind of looked like she struggled to keep up with Derek at times, but she definitely tried. More importantly she looked like she was having FUN! She gets a vote from me!

Natalie and Alec ~ Quickstep ~ Anyone who can do this dance and not trip over their own two feet gets points in my book, but her footwork looked pretty clean. Her nerves and her tension from last week came back though, and if I could see it, I'm sure the judges and everyone else saw it as well. I still like her dancing though. She's just fun to watch. She gets my vote!

Chuck and Anna ~ Tango ~ Going into this I suspected the Tango might be the perfect dance for an ultimate fighter like Chuck, but that was THE MEANEST Tango I've ever seen! I didn't notice too much negative about his actual dancing...perhaps because I was too scared. He is MUCH improved from last week for sure!

Melissa and Mark ~ Jive ~ Melissa needs to sharpen her moves a little bit...she seems tired or something, especially those arms and kicks. She DEFINITELY looked like she was having a hard time keeping up with Mark but she also looked less nervous than last week and like she was having more fun, which seems to be the theme this week. I didn't see much overall dance improvement from last week, but the judges did, which is ok with me because I love Mark Ballas! :) And as Mark and his partners always do, they got my vote!

Michael and Anna ~ Quickstep ~ He was smooth when he was supposed to be smooth and quick when he was supposed to be quick and best of all he had the BEST expression on his face the entire time and it looked like he was having SO MUCH FUN! I loved watching him this week which is more than I can say for last week. Much improved and way more entertaining! He gets my vote!

Debi and Maks ~ Tango ~ Maks always seems to fight with his partners, so the Tango is a good dance for these 2. It was pretty cheap that he did a Roxanne rendition similar to the one in Moulin Rouge when Baz Lourman was the guest judge, but regardless, Maks had cool choreography and more importantly, Debi absolutely NAILED everything about it. She did awesome and got a vote from me!

Louie and Chelsie ~ Jive ~ LOVED IT! Louie was less nervous and was having so much fun on the dance floor...or at least it looked like it! He stumbled a little and didn't always stay with the beat of the music he was dancing to, but overall he did GREAT! And he's still cute! He gets my vote!

Aaron and Karina ~ Quickstep ~ As much as this kid annoys me, and as much as the muppet show nonsense mixed in with their routine annoyed me, he hit EVERY step almost perfectly, held on to Karina perfectly, and didn't seem to fall behind in the quick stepping steps at all. And his face lit up the entire time! PERFECT! As much as I hate to do it...I gave him not one, but TWO of my votes!

Kelly and Louis ~ Tango ~ This girl is an EXCELLENT dancer! She broke her seriousness once and smiled but I think that's just because she was having fun. I'm not technical enough to see the mess-ups that she knew she did and that the judges saw (and that were the real reason for her breaking character and giggling/smiling during the routine), and the ending was a little awkward, but I still really liked it and I definitely want to see more of her dancing, so she gets my vote!

Kathy and Tony ~ Quickstep ~ While she was much improved from last week, there's still something awkward and timid about her and her dancing that rubs me the wrong way. And I still can't stand her in general, so NO VOTE from me! (Hey, I never said I ALWAYS judged fairly...but they are MY votes and this is MY blog! S0 there!)

Mark and Lacey ~ Quickstep ~ For some reason, I knew this guy would be good at the Quickstep! It must be all that karate kicking he does! And his facial expressions were awesome! He put a smile on my face so I put a vote in his box! :)

Mya and Dmitry ~ Jive ~ She's an INCREDIBLE performer! I loved everything about this performance! She did the best tonight by far (and everyone did really well!), so she got two votes from me!

Tom and Cheryl ~ Tango ~ Definitely not as fun as last week's Wild Thing performance, but he isn't bad at all! However, there is something awkward about his stance. Maybe its his bum foot, which made him fall at the end of his routine, bummer. There's something about him that makes me not want to vote for him (probably that he's a politician), but I have to! He's surprisingly decent!

Donny and Kim ~ Jive ~ I didn't like his Jive as much as I liked Mya's, but it was still excellent and a lot of fun! He got my vote. Uh oh...I think I'm becoming a Donny Osmond fan! YIKES! The competition really stepped it up for Week 2! Everyone improved since last week and its a really close race. Its hard to predict who might go home tomorrow night. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it is Kathy Ireland. And not just because I don't like her...I do believe she was the least improved of all the performers tonight and I don't think she has it in her to continue with the rest of them. We'll see tomorrow night though!

Ladies' Night

Night 2 of the Dancing With The Stars Season Premier and it was the ladies' turn to dance. Here's what I thought:

Debi Mazar - Her salsa was a little slow, but overall not bad. Her voice will annoy me as it does in most tv shows and movies I've seen her in, before her missed steps will, but for her first dance she shook it enough and got my vote!

Melissa Joan Hart - She's elegant and had great lines that I could see in her Viennese Waltz. She was obviously nervous, but overall, I thought her dancing was really pretty...and I LOVE Mark Ballas so of course they got my vote! :)

Mya - Her Viennese Waltz was BEAUTIFUL! I thought she did a fantastic job! She was very graceful despite the tons of turns she had to pull of in the choreography and everything was very smooth...I don't care if she broke holds like the judges noticed. She got my vote anyway. And another for her excellent dancing in her relay dancing! I think she's going to be one of the best dancers on the show this season!

Kathy Ireland - She can walk, but there's not much walking in a Salsa. Her movements were jerky and a Salsa is smooth. Her hips were stiff. And I agree with Bruno: the Salsa is supposed to be sexy...this wasn't sexy. Not to mention this woman just ANNOYS me in general. So no votes from me covergirl! ICK!

Natalie Coughlin - Finally! A Salsa with some HIP ACTION! I love this little swimmer! It was funny to watch her loosen up as the performance went on, but you could tell when a hard part was coming up in the routine because her determined face showed up and gave it away. But her Salsa was sexier than Kathy Ireland's by a long shot and I just like her so she got my vote!

Macy Gray - I have never been a fan of Macy Gray - I'm still not. I can't stand the way she sings, talk, stands, or walks and her awkward walk shows when she dances, so now I can't stand how she dances either. HOWEVER, I will say, she did SO MUCH better at the Viennese Waltz than I ever thought she could or would. I didn't see all the charm that the judges were refering to though...maybe next week...if she makes it...but I honestly hope she doesn't...so she did NOT get a vote from me!

Joanna Krupa - She, by far, had the sexiest Salsa (it helps that her partner is Derek Hough ;))! She did some awesome hip shaking. She's also lucky to have Derek as her partner because he has some pretty great choreography...especially in the Latin dances. I think her long legs and determination will help her to do a great job! I like her so far and since she did a REAL Salsa, she gets my vote!

Kelli Osborne - She had the first illegal lift of the competition! Otherwise she did incredible. She had a good hold for the Viennese Waltz and it was just really pretty overall. I'm shocked to see this rocker's wild child dance like such a princess. It was lovely and emotional and I think that's what a Viennese Waltz is supposed to be. Yay! I can't wait to see her dance some more so she definitely has my vote!

This week, I'm not going to make any predictions for who is going home tomorrow night. Its too early to tell. The guys were all equally mediocre and the girls were all great (except for Macy Gray who I hope goes home!) We'll just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow night! I'm just glad my favorite show is back! :)

Grandma and Grandpa

My grandparents are here vacationing and we met up with them this afternoon for a late lunch and a long overdue catch up conversation. Its always nice to see them, I just wish our visits weren't so few and far between. We had a really nice afternoon though. Love you Grandma and Grandpa! Thanks for a wonderful lunch!

Macho Monday!

Dancing With The Stars is back and I KNOW you all missed my blogs and predictions each week, so I brought it back! Tonight was "Macho Monday" which means all the guy contestants danced with their partners. But first it kicked off with a great number by all my favorite guy professionals! Which made my night! Too bad I can't find the video ANYWHERE to post on here! Anyway, here are my thoughts and votes for the first night:

Aaron Carter - Ok, I don't like this kid's cocky attitude. He's like some flirtatious kid who is trying too hard to be macho and ends up coming off more flamboyant, at least in the Cha Cha Cha, than anything else. He seemed to have good feet and he moved his hips enough, and despite a few stumbles that even I caught, I agree with Len, he has potential....I didn't vote for him though so hopefully others liked him enough to bring him back next week so we can find out!

Chuck Liddell - He's a fighter, but I think I was thinking of him as more of a boxer, light on his feet non-stop, and that was not so much the case. He was very heavy on his feet, had stiff arms, tripped on a slide, and was overall awkward to me. He has the confidence for this competition for sure, as long as he can loosen up a little bit and be a little lighter on his feet...but overall I think he has potential as well. He reminded me of a rhino trying to dance with a crowned crane, much better than I had originally anticipate he might be, but nneds improvement. I will say his Foxtrot was in the least, entertaining, but I didn't vote for him.

Mark Dacascos - The Iron Chef and martial arts competitor has some moves - but absolutely NO hip action - or at least not the kind of hips you need for the Cha Cha Cha. He has the best potential I've seen so far thanks to his agility and flexibility...thanks to his kung fu experiences I'm sure. I voted for him because of this as well as the fun dance that he and Lacey did to "Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting." Ha ha!

Ashley Hamilton - Well, for a guy who had brain surgery and thought he'd never walk again, he did amazing! He knew the dance but it was stiff and rough. He just needs to show some emotion and loosen up his arms and legs a lot, but I didn't vote for him.

Donny Osmond - Well, he's only been dancing and performing since he was FIVE, so of course he did great at the Foxtrot. He's a natural entertainer and I enjoyed watching him. He didn't seem to miss a beat as far as his dancing is concerned. He's better than his sister was when she was on this show too. I can't wait to watch him dance some more. Maybe this show will make me like him enough to go see his show in Las Vegas some day! :) But until then, he got my vote!

Louie Vito - His Foxtrot has some awkward holds (which could just be because he seems to have an awkward shape...even his costumes don't seem to fit him right), and I could definitely tell he was nervous, but he did pretty darn good for a snowboarder who's never danced and NEVER even seen an episode of Dancing With The Stars! I won't hold that against him this week because he did a decent job and he's a cute kid who is unexpectedly charming and definitely got my vote! Oh, I also loved watching him during his relay dance, so he got a second vote from me! :)

Michael Irvin - Well, here's our token NFL Football player Cha Cha Cha-ing just as good as the rest of his kind on past seasons of this show. He needs more hips for the Latin dances, but he has great potential. He's going to have to do more than that to stand out from some of my favorites though, such as Jason Taylor and Warren Sapp! I voted for him anyway though because he didn't do bad!

Tom Delay - I'm speechless! I agree with Bruno...he's definitely crazier than Sarah Palin! He Cha Cha Cha-ed to Wild Thing! He's also pretty light on his feet for a politician and did pretty good for a semi-old guy...and he left me wanting to see him dance more, so he got my vote! Too funny!
